The google maps of my area are less than a month old. I can tell by the pad they have graded down the street for a new business.
The maps in my area are at least 3 years old as the neighbors tree is still standing. Wonder what the refresh rate is for their maps?

This is cool... I have an Android-based phone and there is an app that will allow you to make tasks-lists based on your proximity to a point on a map. I.e. Your near the store and you need milk and cookies.. Ding!

I can import a Google Map Point and it'll let me know when I'm close to it. This would have been really cool when I was traveling all over for work. Drop into a city and have it ping me that there are 3 Locosters nearby. Impromptu GTG!!

I'm in Techno-lust!! :D

I can just never stick the landings... opps.. wrong "backflip"!

I'm still learning how to do things on my HTC Hero and it's been 3 months. Just when I think I have it figured out, I find a new thing or a app gives me some new talent and it starts all over!

I still love technology.. even when I'm in over my head with it!!

OK, I have been playing with the settings on the "map" a bit.

I found a alternate Icon set that has WAY more than the original one did, but when I changed it, it also changed the old ones too. If you'd like to choose a new icon, go ahead and place a 2nd "marker" for you. I can access the admin functions of the list and see when they were created and delete the older one allowing you to keep the replacement. It's trivial, but it's a representation of your build, so it should be of your choosing!

Let me know what you think of the new set. There were a few others so if this one doesn't suit, we can keep going with them!

Thanks,

KS

I also made the map center on the USA, rather than in the middle of the ocean, but please don't let that discourage fellow builders from other parts of the world from "pointing" themselves out.. I simply got tired of zooming into the ocean first thing!

Yeah Bot, I loaded a new icon and it bumped my old one to panhandle.

I edited the original post.

I also added myself. Says there are 14 now, but I couldn't look at the map and see that many.

Actually up to 19 but there were several duplicates, so it's only 15.

All clear now! "Point" away!!!

KS

p.s. Thanks for the edit! Get a few hundred more "points" and we'll be ready for sticky-hood!!!
