I've been watching the original version of The Prisoner. Doesn't make any more sense now than it did decades ago...

Something I'd never noticed before is that the Lotus McGoohan drives has the usual red upholstery in the distance shots, but on the close-ups the upholstery is black. In one of the shots the windshield frame doesn't look quite right either. Maybe they made those shots in a mockup in the studio after giving the car back to Lotus.

Also, in one shot he's using his arm to make a hand signal while making a right turn, despite there being turn signals clearly visible on the clamshell fenders.

And finally, while we see McGoohan "getting out of the car" twice, we only see it in a close shot, from the chest up. It's a tense action sequence, so the visuals have to be snappy. Actually showing someone disentangling from a 7 would likely have been more amusing than dramatic...

I have the series. Which episode(s) have black upholstery? Windscreen oddity? I have never noticed those things.

I think that's why Patrick Macnee drove a Bentley in the (original) Avengers, much easier to make an exit from gracefully

We can probably chalk that one up to Lucas electrics!

Episodes 2 and 3, so far. I don't remember if Episode 1 had the same title sequence.

I looked at a few episodes. The car has a black tonneau behind the seat and it does appear the seat is black in some shots, but when I paused it I see the red. "Many Happy Returns" has the best car coverage imho with a great quote. There is another later one where he drives into the mountains.
