A few more pics of the engine almost mounted. There are a couple braced to be added running aft that pick up the top engine mounts.
The plate sitting under the engine obviously is only hey to rest the engine on during mounting. It will be removed.

You do Nice work, I bet you could get paid for doing that!

What is your all up weight target?

Do you have bodywork planned?

What is the Wheel base and Track?

Thank you! I appreciate the compliment.
Target weight is 900lbs but I think I may be stretching that.
Wheel base is 100".... Forgot my track numbers, but overall width is 77".
Running 8" wide on the front and 10's on the rear.
Body will be carbon fiber and I'm kinda stealing some design ques from the Caterham SP300 R
I just did that car design.
I'm now vac bagging all the carbon fiber (foam core) panels for the floor and cockpit.
I will post some pics
More to follow
Cheers
Linz

Rods in bending! Oh no!

Just kidding. Nice work! Have you figured out your brake setup yet?

You can build the most awesome thing in the world but at some point, an 80yr old man in a crx is probably going kick your butt on the track... don't ask me how I know.

lol... yeah there are a lot of tubes going in every direction.

I took the easy way out with the brakes. I'm using as Tilton 3 pedal assm.

They have all the goodies and even a brake balance bar. Also I did not have the patients to make my own pedals lol

I've just noticed how far back your front A-arms mount. Are you going to add any specific measures to prevent them from intruding into the passenger area in the event of a mishap? Those arms could turn into some pretty nasty spears aimed at the occupants given the wrong kind of hit.

Quality build.

The thing which I do not understand why you made rear end so long? It is possible to finish frame before differential and to mount differential outside the frame. Suspension arms rear members can be parallel to half-shaft and front moved more fwd. Dampers can be easily relocated with push-rods more fwd. All these things will reduce mass, polar moment of inertia and will make you race car more responsive to steering input. Rear end could be a little higher for diffuser. I hope one day I will be able to achieve the same build quality.

Good luck!

I'm going to back off of this a bit. After getting a better look at one of the earlier pictures, it looks like almost all of the front a-arms are located in front of the pedals, with just the rear mounts next to the feet. Were it my car, I'd still have some concerns about shielding my feet from the back end of those a-arms, but my original concern was that the a-arms were much further back along the chassis.

As others have said, nice fabrication. You've definitely put quite a bit of work into this project.
