I may just be showing my mechanical ignorance here, but Why can't someone gut the mc gearbox so that it's locked into top gear, then connect the output shaft to a car transmission with a Guibo? Taken further, one could even have custom gears cut to eliminate the need for a numerically low rear end? The tranny ratios might not be exactly ideal for the high-reving bike motor, but you get a robust box with reverse out of the deal. It would seem to be monumentally easier than the elaborate solution that the Miatabusa guys have been struggling with for years.

Well we both look a little silly. Right after posting this, I noticed that there's another thread (bike to VW transaxle) that's basically exploring the same question. Sorry for not doing my due diligence. In your case, my post above specifically references that which you also reference.

Oy!

LOL...Sometimes it does pay to read the whole post before hitting reply, rather than jumping to conclusions and just skimming the latter portion. :BH:

If I'm interpreting what you're saying correctly, your thought would intend to continue using the stock motorcycle clutch with nothing other than the Giubo between the engine and transmission?
