Some on the forum may argue, but my experience has shown my a "swirl tank" is the best way to handle this. It's common on race cars. It's purpose is to remove air from the system as well as allowing for expansion. It's a closed system but still needs an overflow tank if there is too much coolant in the system. Effectively what it does, is find its own coolant level via expansion and is "burps" off what it doesn't need through the radiator cap.

I have been using this on the last several bike engine cars I have raced and it works flawlessly.
