Ive got my Yamaha FZ1 engine mocked up in the chassis... with that engine and the s-10 rear axle Im useing... it looks like I could get away with a 1 piece driveshaft as the angles look to be very close to 1-2 degrees... I know I would need the driveshaft to have a slip yoke in the shaft somewhere... will this cause a problem that a 2 piece would not have... Im not ready to have a shaft made.. just trying to address questions when I get to them..

Maximum driveshaft length should be determined by the diameter, wall thickness, material type and max rotational speed of the shaft. I've seen calculators online that help with this. If your application meets the criteria above, and you have no problems with packaging, and you have incorporated a slip yoke, then no reason why you shouldn't use a one piece shaft. I considered it for mine and then went 2 piece so I could have a narrower tunnel.
