So I just picked up a 30gallon compressor. does 7.2 @ 40 psi & 5.7 @90 psi.

What would be some worthwhile locost budget tools to get?

I've heard the chicago pneumatics cp734 might be good for heavy duty stuff.

Any suggestions on a small wrench?

Thanks

Yeah, what he said. Especially (Even bigger font) if you're doing Cherry structural rivets into the frame.

I also like my 3/8 drive air ratchet... If you're taking stuff apart (like a donor car) it's mah-vell-uss! Mine is Craftsman. Not the cheapest, but I've had it for 10 or 12 years.

I frequently use (and love):

1/2" impact gun
3/8" butterfly impact
1/4" die grinder with carbide cutter
3-1/2" zip disk
1/4" angle die grinder with surfacing disk

Occasionally use:

Air-Riveter (but used lots during the build)
3/8" ratchet
Air Chisel
Assorted spray guns

Don't have a large enough compressor for:

Straight-line sander
Orbital sander

I've broken too many bolts trying to remove a nut or bolt or stud using power tools. I prefer to do things the old fashioned way. I can feel things when they are not right. The 3 tools I use most on my very-old Craftsman compressor are 1) air nozzle, 2) tire nozzle and 3) DIY sandblast cabinet http://www.tptools.com/Product.aspx?display_id=337. I sometimes use my 1/2 impact wrench, my 3/8 drive ratchet. However, I've gotten my hand caught against a fender-well with the ratchet running. I couldn't get it off or reversed. That hurt! I also used a pneumatic screwgun when I built my fence years ago. For some creative and destructive work, (sometimes I don't know which it is until I'm done ) I don't use pneumatic stuff, I use my electric cutoff wheels in my 4-1/2 grinder.

Air drills are nice, light and easy to use. If you're going to need a riveter, the drill is nice too.
