I was wondering if anyone could validate how well this thing works:

http://www.harborfreight.com/tubing-roller-99736.html

If I wanted to bend 1.5" dia .090" or .120" wall tube, what might be the tightest radius it could pull. Is it only capable of pushing that type of tubing into exo-car frame arcs or can it get it into 3' radius territory?

Opinions are interesting, but data is appreciated...

And thanks in advance!

Chris

No data or first hand experience. The manual can be downloaded from a link on that site. It says:

Its only good for large diameter stuff. Don't bother for something like a roll cage.

Also, confirm it's really for bending tubing and not "pipe", which has a different OD in comparison.

I have one and it will not bend anywhere near tight enough for a roll bar, especially once you start looking at the thicker tubing.
I have a JD2 for tighter radius, unfortunately that is what is required or a simliar style bender if you want to bend thicker wall tubing.
I look at the roller bender as a tool that can be used for gentle bends, more for for garden displays, furniture etc.
For that kind of work it has value.

Al

Thanks for the feedback. I do have a few gentle bends that I can use it for and I found one used on a stand with all the dies for $100. Thinking I will try it...
