I was looking at some tools.

It says it can handle 16 gauge metal. I was thinking of using it for shaping some of the square tubes(where the round tubes meed), and body panels. Does it cut real clean? Any opinions? I would file to finish. But for body panels it sure looks like there wont be any burrs. Just line a straight edge, and drag this tool to cut.

I have a nibbler (pneumatic) and have only been able to use it on thin gauge aluminum. I'd be surprised if this unit, at this price, would do what is advertised. I think that a 3/8 drill would probably be too weak, but that is dependent on the internal gearing of the nibbler. However, at $ 25 not much is at stake.
I don't know where you would use a nibbler on tubing; if anything, a set of hacksaws and some good files will go a long way.

I have an electric nibbler that eats 16 ga mild steel like butter - but it cost hundreds of dollars. you get what you pay for ...

I have cheap pneumatic shears and nibbler from Harbor Freight. Both worked well on 16ga aluminum but I doubt they would work on 16ga steel. Didn't try it though.

One comment about the nibbler; it produces millions of half-moon double-ended needles that go everywhere. Be very careful about containing the little demons and clean the area thoroughly after using the nibbler. If you have pets or kids that run barefoot in the same area, be doubly cautious.

John also meant to say that the wife is not to happy when you track in all those little sharp half moons stuck to the bottom of your shoes, into the house
