Here are two screenshot of the partially completed frame drawing for my new car. Many diagonal tubes are not in place at the time as are details of suspension pickup points.

Back in late September I placed the order for my Mk7 body. Well today is like an early white Xmas for me. In this case the white is the gelcoat that Fay Curtis used while she did a fabulous job laying up my parts. Thank you Fay.

Parts as they were first pulled from the packing.

And the tail from the rear with the fuel and side doors.

And from the side with the firewall.

And now in the back of a storage area of my shop I have a simple mockup with the body sitting on cartons.
I will next square things up so I can measure and finalize the drawings.

I saw a real one years ago and fell in love with the car. Please start a build log when you get things rolling full steam. It sounds like it'll be an interesting car to watch come together.

Thank you guys,
This should be a fun build as well as a great car to drive.
And yes this will be my build thread as well.

Here is a screenshot of the chassis that will be going under the body.

A bit different than original you might say.

Be careful storing your new body panels, they will warp and twist and be a PIA when you go to put them on your square chassis. Ask me how I know!!!

going to be a great car........add lightness!........

Thank you John,
I have the front and rear set on 3 points and over the few months they have been sitting, I tend to question if this is adequate. The panels had moved a bit during there travels to me as it is due to the way they were nested not to mention the lack of stability of Vinylester when fresh.
I am working down in the building they are stored in and should give them a better look.

I am reusing components that I built 10 years ago.

Front hubs,

Front upright,

Front Assy,

These lower arms were not run on the car other than initial testing.

Rear upright, These use Honda Civic hubs & bearings.

The diff is a Quaife which I enclosed and modified to accept the sprocket and inboard disc,

Freehand? I love this pic as it's exactly what I am about to take on next. I've been looking for a turntable for my milling machine. Was thinking one with a chuck would be perfect as I was worried that the hold downs on a table like yours would interfere, but just that simple single one you have makes it clearer.
If you have more info, and pic of how you did this, It would help me out,

Cool.

By the way, how much built in caster in these?

Nice work Charlie. Those front hub/upright assemblies are slick.

Did you also machine the spindles for the front uprights?
