Kartracer lent me his scales
1190 lbs still needs glass, roll bar, gauges and wire and all the alum. Will now look for lighter wheels and brakes and build alum beam. :BH:

Sounds good to me. You've managed to cut about 600lbs out of a bug, which is no small task.

It is a fun build and I was trying to watch the weight because there is just not much HP. Still should be a very nice driver.

Looks good. Should be a lot less wind buffet compared to a seven.

The side pods are available if you want to add those later.

How did you bend the tubing? What was the wall thickness?

Wind less? I hope but I see other bug with the widshield extension and screen behind too. I do plan to have a roof and a cage once I see how hard it is to get in.
Side pods 375.00 from Manx again if I like it then yes I think they look great.

The sq tube base under body is .080 and the side bars are .080 all other tube is .065 and still heavy. The wheels and brakes are most of it.

Thanks you for asking..This is best Forum

What's the e-brake handle from? I'm struggle with this on my locost since I don't have a tunnel.

I liking this build so-far!

Looks great! I like it a lot. Needs a bikini top in this heat for some shade but may be hard to use the groove in windscreen frame extrusion due to the angle. The top is just vinyl sewn around the edge of a stiff piece of plastic (makes a J in profile) to hook on the extrusion. The back end pulls it tight over a roll bar.

Traditionally, old guys are usually the ones that have the knowledge, space, money, and time (if retired or at least earning leave at a higher rate).

Dang, that looks fun! I've ALWAYS loved the Manx dune buggy! I had a '58 VW in high school back in 1968 and dreamed of cutting it up and making a dune buggy, but never did : - (

What a great California/West Coast car!
