You could always bolt in BE/BH BL or GR rear end components. Multilink and widely available, You could just modify the entire assembly instead of all custom stuff

It'd be fairly simple to modify a complete rear subframe like this to take the Subaru transaxle.

BE is a third generation (2000-2004) Legacy Sedan
BH is a third generation legacy wagon
BL is a fourth generation (2005-2009) Legacy
GR is a 2008-2014 WRX (I think they named the base Impreza chassis differently?)

Rear suspension can actually be GD impreza/WRX/STi rear suspension (lateral links and trailing arm), front suspension can use the lower control arm and upright from the front suspension and build a bracket to bolt to the uprights on all 4 corners to make it a double wishbone setup. Look at the Factory Five 818 kit, that's exactly what they do...
