May have found a "Ran when parked" MR2 really cheap.
Did a search and was surprised to not find any MR2 based builds here.
I know struts are nuts but that should not be that great an obstacle.
So why no love for MR2's?

What year MR2? After 87, they had 5 rib engine blocks. Is the build mid-engine, or 7 type. I have a 1985 4AGE motor out of a MR2 in my Seven. I did not use any of the suspension parts [struts]. But interior, steering, ECU, fuel system, and electrical could be used. You would still have to source a T-50 trans and axle from an early 80's Corolla or Celica. By now must of those parts would have a lot of miles on them, but are dirt cheap if you can find them. There would be a good chance that they would need rebuilding. The only real advantage is that there is a ton of aftermarket parts, for the 4AGE motors. You will have to modify the intake manifold to fit under the hood. On the positive side, it is one hell of a good motor if you like high rev'ing engines.

I love MR2's. Such an easy car to push to its limits and hold there. The motors are great. The trans and rear and driveshaft can be harder to find than you would think. Why not do an At-om clone?
...and why the heck does this website always hyphenate At-om. I did not type that!

Because at one time, Ar-i-el was legally prosecuting people that were using their trademarked or copyrighted (?) name, especially competing companies who used the name in advertising. Our website automatically corrects this and some other words in order to practice "staying safe".

edit: I see that when I wrote xArielx (delete the x's) it was auto-corrected too. :D

I was expecting a few Midlana type builds.

I think MR2 sales were highly regional. I have never seen one in my area; not at the dealer, not on the road, not in a used car lot, not in a junkyard.

Flip side, the Lincoln Blackwood pickup truck was made in 2002 only, at just over 3300 made. There were half a dozen of them in my small Arkansas town...

Bought on like thet. However if it ran when parked it was pushed. Big hole in #3. Wanted the engine and pieces but it just didn't work out. Went to the crusher at about a $50 loss. That's about the time I decided I didn't need no stinking donor and just bought what I wanted.

YMMV
