My name is Matt. I have been a long time lurker.

I work for a large scrap metal recycling corporation in a yard in Bristol, PA. We have recently expanded our business into auto parts. I do not work for the parts department, and in no way profit from their sales.

I manage the scrapyard end of it. I recently noticed several awesome donor and parts cars (IRS thunderbird turbo coupe, Porsche 944) get smashed and shredded. A shame to someone like me who desperately wants to build a car, but lacks a garage.

We cannot sell an entire car, but we can sell any part. Though we are set up as a walk in business, I can try to make arrangements to ship on your behalf.

So basically, tell me what you need, and I will see if it can be had.

I appoligize in advance if this post is inappropriate use of the forum, and hope this can help the locost community as a whole.

Thanks for the offer Matt, glad to hear from you.

That's a pity, for sure. Parts from Miatas, Subarus and Mustangs are all probably useful for us. I've considered parts from bot the cars you mentioned too. Maybe some folks can chime in with ideas and we can make a list of some common choices. I don't know how bad shipping is, but it probably will be a help for some people. Small parts are easy but you might be able to sell a pallet with the useful bits pulled from a Miata...

I have Subarus everywhere, all automatic at the moment. But it changes constantly. I have pallets and a forklift, I would be happy to load up for any freight company. Again, I am not posting any of this in any sort of official capacity, I would just be happy to help out if anyone has a specific requirement. All sorts of truck parts. Anything older than 2000 goes straight to the scrap pile, so if I am keeping an eye out, I can sell the stuff for anything better than scrap price.

The parts from Subarus we would be looking for would be rear end assembly and brake components... the trans from a Subaru is pretty much useless for a locost; however, the mid engine crowd (pook in particular), could use them...

I have at least 6 complete Subaru Impezas and Outbacks in here newer than 2000. All automatic. The diffs and breaks never sell. Anyone need anything off them?

Where are you located? It helps when calculating shipping costs...
