Thought I would share notice that Fastcraft motorsport's customer Gary Klein is going to compete in NASA road race at MID OH this Weekend Aug 27 & 28 with his MNR VortX. So this may be a chance for seven enthusiast from the Mid OH area to get an up close look at the VortX kit. This will be the first time this MNR VortX will turn a wheel in a NASA road racing Super Touring race. Looking forward to it's racing debut. This will be a good opportunity for enthusiast to get a close up look at the VortX kit. IF you are at Mid OH this weekend please stop by and say hello. Gary will be racing in the Thunder group. Lots of V8 competition for our less is more challenger.
We will be located in garage #22.Gary will race in the Thunder group.
Qually is at 10:50 AM and race at 3:40 Pm tentative schedule
There is an optional practice session on Friday. If for some reason the VortX suffers an issue to prevent it’s race debut on Saturday and we will be a no show on Saturday
I will post notice Friday evening on my facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/drivefastcraftmnr

Just got report from Gary At Mid OH. Overall a good day performance wise. MNR VortX did two complete sessions no problems on track and had our class covered in lap times.
But
as always there is but
Car will not start as of 8:40 tonight.
So if we can not locate replacement part early tomorrow in time to make the race at 3:40 pm. Gary will have not have any choice but to pull out probably by noon tomorrow and tow for home.
So Gary is not looking good to making the grid for the race but we may get lucky.
But Gary and the VortX are on the pace for sure, It is fast.
So just want give notice that to MNR VortX enthusiast that the car may not be available for inspection. But still a huge field and a good race to watch regardless , so still a day at the race track is always a good day. I plan to be there in the morning and will be available for questions.

Hi Andrew

Well, could not get the car fixed in time for the race. This was the Vortx'S first race weekend and the car did validate it's ability to compete in class. Driver, builder Gary is still getting use to the car and we can expect more from the current set up. Gary says car as set up is a 132 or mid 131 lap time for track conditions at race day. Fact is we were about 1.5 second off this projected time. To put that in perspective these times would put us 3rd best of 8 Porsche GT5 cup factory racing this weekend. Yet the VortX with street light package still could be driven on the street. Ended up the starter had a bit of melt down in windings. Gary is using the typical 24 volt system for 'bussa, But he did order a Brice HD geared drive 12 volt starter( not cheap) from Brise in the UK to give a try. We are shooting for a test day at either Pitt Race Sept 30 or Mid OH on Oct 6. Let group know in anyone in area would like to see the VortX.
