I'm just curious as to what is a reasonable price for a kit. I'm still thinking of offering a kit for my car (wildcat).

Good luck with finding a kit or if you end up scratch building.

So it sounds like there are no kits readily available now? "Reasonable" is very relative, I'd lean more to what frames and body kits are on the market??

There is a basic frame on facebook marketplace right now. $750 in Mokena IL.

Honestly, the basic frame is maybe 5% - 10% of any build IMO.

I don't know if there is still a kit available in the US unless you have Jack at Kinetic put together a package of goodies. His Soup to Nuts kit is listed at $10k and is everything to build a Locost except paint. That price hasn't changed in quite some time, so you should call Jack to verify.
Birkin used to sell their S# kit for about $20k

There are a few kits available in the UK. By the time you get one landed at a port in the US it would be $10k easily.

As for frames, I'm working with a company right now to see what it will cost to get a fully laser cut marked and notched tube kit produced. I'm sure it won't be cheap as the piece of equipment to do this work from a CAD file cost him 7 million dollars. He builds a boat load of trailer frames for equipment he produces, so I'd need to buy time on the machine, plus programming, plus material cost.
Then end result would be a steel jigsaw puzzle and set of instructions.
We're discussing tabs and notches on the tube ends to make it truly like a jigsaw puzzle or LEGO blocks where two tubes that matter can come together only one way.

Alternately I can build a bare frame on my table using saw cut tubes and a combination of MIG and TIG for a tad under $3k.
That would be a book frame, a 442, or a Vodou which is modified to accept MIATA bits. You'd still have to source the body panels and do fabrication. Good news is Jack's body panels fit right up.

Thant's not a bad start. Lots of frame members missing from that one, but still a good jumping off point.
