CHEATER!!!

Very cool, don't forget to write up a build log to keep us all informed as to how it all goes together.

Yes, a write up explaining what you got vs. what you expected.

And by what you got, I don't mean just the physical pieces although a list of what you needed to complete the built would be nice, I mean if it was as good & or complete as you expected.

Will do guys. Iv;e been down the fab road with FSAE before and its not worth it to me to save a few grand. I know the kit does not include hardware and i think the pricing reflects that; just as well so i can avoid experiences Keith Tanner had CMC stuff. I will certinally report on how things go! I still think i can qualify as locost since i'll be building a car that is faster than 98% of things on the road for under 15 grand, hopefully under 12 :D

Bradley? What are you doing here?

Glad to see you decided to build something! The kit looks nice, let me know when you get it in, I'd like to check it out.

Also, give me a call and come check out my year old project that has less progress than you have already....

Best wishes sir!

The kit is designed for a focus drive train so i will run that until i'm set up better to to a BEC. Plans for now are to use the 2.0 zetec rated at 130 hp, and boost that within a year of completion. That will put me well below a 10:1 power to weight with me in the car.

Instead of using the Focus Zetec, find a pre98 Contour engine. they are much more robust (the main caps are larger than even the billet caps for the focus) and the rods and pistons can be upgraded with the same aftermarket ones for the focus (which will have to be done for anything over about 200WHP). the only thing im not positive on is the difference in the passenger side engine mount, since it was changed in 98.

i had over 200WHP with a boosted Zetec in my Contour and i thought it was fast. i cant imagine what a boosted Zetec in a car like this will be like.

if you have any questions regarding the Zetec or the MTX-75 let me know. i can answer most everything and if i cant i know others who can.
