How about something like a Ginetta G20?

That Miller car has one large steering wheel, about the same as an Indy car of the time.

One can choose from many engines - including a Miata engine that was used in his 4th car. That car had nearly perfect balance - 350 pounds on each wheel.

I know this thread is a little old. But since the Scarab was mentioned. There's another car body of the same period & very close design. How about the Devin? The body was made in many different wheel bases up to & including the SS which was a full size for V8. They still show up once in a while on ebay & elsewhere. There may be some repops out there too. I'm re-working one right now to go on a Triumph Spitfire chassis which if I leave the body length as is. Will require an 8" strech of the frame. I'm re-working it to be closer to the Ferrari 250 Test Rosa maybe even the potoon nose?

I've spoken to the owner, and even visited with him last month (he let me drive his #411 which had a 1.8l Miata motor, OMG was it fun). Anyways, he isn't really building kits anymore and from my conversation with him he didn't really want to anymore and wanted to sell the car he had to retire and go sailing.. Although, I'm sure cash talks.

I had a brief thought of offering to buy his molds.

I'll pass along the kudos on the Scarabs to Augie Pabst, Jr. who owns one. His son is here in St Pete this weekend with the Indycar / F2000/ Star Mazda show.

Yes, this is my spring break, and yes, I'm having fun.

I know that it won't fit on a traditional Locost frame and that it needs a rear engine but my favorite body from the late 60's was the Chevron B8. The overall size of the car, very small, made it really attractive to me. I'd love to be able to get a body like this.

I got a message from a guy who'd recently found this thread and was pretty stoked by the idea, but "It looks like it sort of fizzed on the forum though. Could you tell me if you've pursued this further and if so, what you may have in mind?" Man, is he going to be delighted to find it continues about halfway down page 8 on the Lalo thread:

http://locostusa.com/forums/viewtopic.p ... &start=105

In brief, it's happening, and should be in production by the end of September.

An update with production pics?
I've been trying to find a Lotus 8/9/10 replica body to hold a Lotus 907 engine that keeps calling to me.
The 907 is low but the Weber intake sits a little high.
