I have an old removable fiberglass top. By old, I mean 40 plus years. It is in good shape, but the sail portion on the passenger side curves toward the center of the car. It needs to be "sprung" outward about 3/4". I can spring it back into place by using clamps, but it springs back.

Any ideas?

Bill

Yo Bill-
Need pictures... Could you put something behind it - plywood, aluminum, etc- to hold it in place? The 'plywood' could be laminated over with fiberglass or just epoxied on. Then cover it all with something nice looking, like duct tape...

Heat source: A single flood light assembly wired to a 3 prong extension chord with the female end cut off, using wire nuts and secure the cable end inside the assy so it can't be pulled out, which could result in a short.
Mount the assembly as it would be to the outside of a house but upside down, to a block of wood or stand for stability.
It won't suitable for outdoor use.

Use the light(s) to get it warm but not so hot as to make it uncomfortable to touch.
Clamp it slightly too far outward since it will likely spring back in a bit when the clamps are removed.
Check it every day so the surface temp is correct and remove the clamp to see if it has been corrected.

Do not leave the light unattended. A dog, person, etc could bump the mount, trip over the chord, etc, causing the heat to burn something nearby, causing a fire.

You could also use red heat lamps as they have the same socket.
