Looks like a perfect size for a kid's pedal car.

Cheers,

Life is what happens when you're making plans... I've been laid off, building a house, taking care of my elderly parents...and so on. I got a new job, YAY! Finishing up that house, still taking care of my parents, but very much looking forward to starting up my project again.

Yeah, I know all too well how events can overtake a person. However, I'm looking forward to seeing your project develop in future.

Cheers,

I'm still unable to work on the cnc router but have invested in some 3d printers that I can run in my apartment. I built a large format printer with a print volume of 465 x 465 x 625mm or for those who prefer imperial 18.3" x 18.3" x 24.5".
I printed out a 1/4 scale model of a revised design.

Similar yes, as if you are going to build a body to snugly fit a Locost chassis, and like the classic 1960s sportsracer aesthetic, you are already in a fairy tight box. But there are differences. Phong's design doesn't have the unsightly hood bulge for one.

Everything is similar, but I like the fisher hood bulge very much. They are also much smaller than this which is intended to be built around 442 dims for v8s and six footers. Maybe you can support Phong's endeavor without calling Fisher ugly?

Fair enough. Aesthetics are subjective. I pretty well like everything else about the Fischer besides the bulge, so in no way meant to say that it's ugly.

Yes I did borrow heavily from the early sixties esthetic as a few other kit cars have.

I noticed you have a flat windscreen in the renderings.

A triumph spitfire windscreen is about 44 inches wide at the bottom and about 13 inches high at the oem angle.
I can provide much more accurate dims if interested along with the seat profile so an off-the-shelf seal could be used or you may want to paint the edges flat black inside and use sealer instead with a mastic edge/lip. My glass is still out of my '78 spit.

You could fit flat, 1/4 inch tempered or laminated door glass, acrylic, or polycarb with a simple channel roller and pull system.

That's a very innovative way of making progress - the 3D printing. That's a very nice model.

Cheers,

Actually the windscreen is from a MGA. A slight curve to the windscreen and the right curve along the bottom of the screen to match the body...actually I matched the body to the bottom of the screen. Cheap and plentiful!
