Any suggestions on where to get number plates that arnt crazy expensive. They would need to be vinyl... i don't have any metal to stick the magnetized ones too.

something like the attached.

You can build the most awesome thing in the world but at some point, an 80yr old man in a crx is probably going kick your butt on the track... don't ask me how I know.

Some of the Corvette guys use suction cups and galvanized sheet steel from the home supply store, then use the same magnetic numbers as everyone else.

The sticky numbers never worked well on a friend's car. I was driving it one day, saw something out of the corner of my eye, and snagged one out of the air at 70mph...

Give your graphic to a local sign shop, should be about $25. A little more if you want clear laminate over the printing.

Are you talking about static cling or stickers. I was planning on stickers.

Got two of these made for $6 each! They are a bit thin so i am checking to see if they can laminate the one side or use a thicker vinyl.

I don't think your letters (AM DM) meet the official size for SCCA. I doubt anyone will care locally but may be a pain if you got to a bigger event.

If you are getting them remade I would tweak the design slightly to meet the rules. They look really good though.

From the SCCA
AM is the easiest place to fit. It could be a BM car, but BM cars are supposed to be compliant with the Club Racing GCR (General Competition Rules).

The local SCCA Region can class cars any way they want per Solo Rules section 1.1 (page 23). They can allow it in DM, EM, BM, or any class. They can even create a class for cars like yours. But if you entered a National Solo event or attend another Region’s Solo event, I’d suggest AM.

From PCA and BCCA
please classify this as DM

Local guys say its a Ar-i-el At-om Copy so its DM to them. SCCA says probably AM. I put both and will cover one with white electrical tape depending on which event i do.

I have always just made my own numbers and class letters .
you can buy contact paper for dirt cheap thru amazon in any color you like .
you can buy the number and letter templates thru them too and again dirt cheap .
if you can trace the number and letters on a piece of contact paper and cut them out with a razor knife it takes me all of about a hour to do the numbers and class letters and stick them on the car .
the good thing I like about contact paper is when you remove it you don't have the sticky mess to deal with .
I have had the numbers in the gay Ferrari AKA Miata for two years now . the car is always out side and the contact paper holds up fine .

Any Vinyl cutter may cut the numbers from Di-Noc Material. very nice adhesive.
Ad they would look cool.
Carbon fiber looking Di-Noc comes in several colors, silver and gray may contrast OK with your black sides.
