acrylic, the scrap abs they had was too thin |

the issue with using a hot air gun is that you probably did not reach the glass transition temperature on the whole piece and while you were heating some areas others were cooling. I have had some success using infrared lamps to bring acrylic up to temperature. When clear, I backed it up with black felt. putting the whole rig in a box is also a good solution. You have to heat the part uniformly or at least get the whole bend area above the GTT. Good luck, Paul |
