I was poking through 7 pictures on my hard drive and found this. The date is 4/14/2011, probably when I saved it from the web. The markings near the front wheel look like it might have originally come from the locostbuilders.uk site and someone tried to crop their logo off.

I don't remember paying any particular attention to it the first time I saw it, but I *really* like this.

The cockpit is moved forward enough for most FWD powertrains to be put in the back. The windshield is pushed forward for easy entry/exit. We know that moving the windshield forward increases buffeting; the designer did a lot of work to minimize that.

The Targa bar apparently has a glass window, which would reduce buffeting and some engine noise. The doors are simple panels that overlap the sides of the car; they have fixed "vent windows" which also provide hinges.

The rear fenders are particularly noteworthy; the bottoms are clipped to reduce frontal area and they have box panels in front to help divert turbulent air from the fronts of the rear fenders.

The rear deck appears to be a simple rolled panel like an ordinary Locost hood.
I imagine the rear fenders would be normal width, with the deck lid having semicircular cutouts for clearance.

The front looks like a Stryker or Stalker one-piece fiberglass part.

Actually, judging by the rear fenders, it looks like the whole back of the car might be pulled out a bit, giving a little extra shoulder/hip room. That would require some support structure for the small panels under the Targa bar.

I like this a lot better than the sketches I've been making... I'm going to wander over to the UK forum and see if anyone over there recognizes the drawing.

Warning: a bit of self-promotion

I noticed that the above car resembles my own, Midlana. If you have your heart set on buying it, okay, but if you'd consider building from scratch, check out my site, http://midlana.com/. The book contains complete plans.

Buying it? You realize it's just a crude Photoshop drawing, right?

Looks to me like using Midlana as a basis would make your little 'Doodle' readily come to life! Think on it a while.

I posted a response to your similar query on LocostBuilders but I'll also try here to see if this board will "accept" the current links to Google Photos. Update: Yes it will, so rest of the article added. However, for some reason, the images are smaller than they should be, so here's a link to the album with the originals https://goo.gl/photos/kUwEJrn17JUbCKHj7

I can't help with who did the Photoshop but the original image is of a Renault engined special from this article in PPC Magazine Nov 2006.

No, it's the real car. Look at the pictures that OzGecko posted, it's the same picture as on page 101 and someone cut out the driver. Look closely and the driver's shoulders are visible along with the green trees through the front and rear glass.

I'd seen pictures of that one, but I didn't make the connection to the sketch. That extra foot-plus behind the cockpit really throws the proportions off.

Thanks for the article!

Hey John,

Meant to add 'the best I've ever seen'.

Cheers and good luck with your current project.

LateralScience's build could wear a body like the sketch. Though the cleanliness of his work space still makes me wonder if his whole build is Photoshop...

Why do you guys think that's a sketch - it's identical to the photo above, sans driver.

Well, it has been Photoshopped somewhat, to colourise, and remove about 18" of wheelbase and (IMHO) greatly improve the overall proportions. But, yes, sketch is definitely not teh right term here.

Haha, yeah now I see what you're talking about. I was fixating on the photo aspects of it instead of what the image/sketch was of. Yeah using an inline engine forces that long back end, but a transverse drivetrain could fix that.
