Searching the internet I see a Swedish desgin-house showing photo concepts of Seven like car with a 1950s indy roadster inspired body. Has anyone built such a car or body? Is there parts or molds someplce for such a body? Is anyone building something like this?

i am doing one based on the 1953 Kurtis 500B. Just finished the chassis (took 11 months) I made a 1/6 scale clay model - it is more traditional than the Swedish design model, but that is super cool too. Going to start on the body this month. It will be an aluminum 2 seater. I am building the body at Wray Schelins shop in Charlton MA (look him up on FB - amazing fabricator) He offers a 4 days fab class which i am taking Feb 3-6, then ill go up there 1 day a week to finish it. Wray is a really great guy - anyone interested in sheet metal fab should take his class.

Sean,

That is very cool, this is where my mind was going.

The frame is artwork, is it your one off design or 7 I'd it based? Like in inboard shocks.

Thanks! - the frame was my own creation - Inspired by classic tube chassis as well as newer designs like Marcus's. I built a full scale wood model to iron out the details. With the open wheel configuration, there was a tight balance between making room for the engine, foot box and body shape - I offset the engine 1/2" to the right, which helped a lot. I had the rocker arms and chassis tabs water jet cut to my own design. My only "innovation" (as far as i know) was only putting one bend in the dash bar, plus i notched the bar where it connects to the chassis on the sides (so it is welded on the top and sides) - i think it is stronger that way. This is just a street car, so i didn't completely obsess over triangulating everything perfectly. I can post more pics if anyone is interested.

What are you using for front spindles?
I think you need to start posting as a builder. You've got one vote here! Dave W

it is a pontiac solstice drivetrain. bought it from Dean Watts (FIRST CLASS to deal with BTW)
Other than the engine and suspension, it will look like it was built in 1955
Here are a few more pics

I always thought the Solstice drive train would be an ideal modern candidate. It was out of budget for me, but I'm glad to see someone is using it. I like the Indy Roadster concept of your build too.

Cheers,
