Decided I look the look with bumpers and have started on it. Not quite certain what to do with the nose yet, but I am looking at a couple of small vertical bumperettes that would slope back under to protect the bottom of the rad and give me an indication of a speed bump would hit the oil pan or not.
The bumper is cut down from an old mgb chrome bumper that was in bad shape. Cut and spliced to curve around the fenders. It will not be strong but I think it gives an aggressive look to the front. Dont mind the rough glass work and that the drivers fender needs a bit of tweaking to get the shape more like the passengers side.
Any better ideas on how to work the bumper around the nose?
I am also considering putting the headlights into the fenders if there is room

I think the bumpers look good in the context of your full-bodied build. Of course, they'll only protect you from a midget riding a 8 inch high bicycle, but no matter.

You have some very unique aspects to your build and I like a lot of your ideas. So, I say "Build on, pilgrim."

Cheers,

Thanks,
I am in southern ontario, but you would never know from the lack of snow right now.
I think your protection from an 8 inch midget ( no offence intended) is optimistic if they are on a bicycle. I am hoping at most they might deflect a pylon.

They will help the aero I think but not much else.

Not sure if there is anyway to incorporate a front license plate holder into the front if I build a chin around the nose or not.
The rear will have the mgb chrome bumper ( painted or powder coated to match the front) cut and widened to fit the car and hold a license plate in the center.
Hoping to have it on the road near the end of May.

Looks like a plate would fit nicely between the nose and the drivers side fender without being too obtrusive!
