I ran into a reference to this exhaust header modeling kit. Perhaps others have heard of it, but it's news to me. It is pricey. However, if you were doing it for a living, it would probably pay for itself in short order.

Here is the company's website with a page that has a pretty clear video on the process involved:

How it works ==> http://www.icengineworks.com/#!howitworks/c1se

Here's a link to a kit for 4-cylinder engines ($419.99) ==> http://www.icengineworks.com/#!online-s ... y=11578474

Unless you could share it among several Locost builders, it might be too pricey for the amateur.

Cheers,

Damn! That front slip angle is way too large and the Ackerman is just a muddle.

When I did mine I picked up several packages of Blue aluminum rad flex hose that Summit was dumping at 5 bucks each shipping inc.
After I was finished with my headers I put the flex hose back in the packages and sold them on craigslist for.....wait for it..yup, five bucks each. :shock:
Not as fancy as the store bought ones you are showing, maybe a little more awkward to work with, than those as well, but still worked out ok.

Cheers,

"Modeling kit ?" I don't know about States
but here in Quebec if You smile at the
owner of muffler shop, he might allow to
pick scrap stainless pipes with which a
whole exhaust system can be made.
On your picture nr1 is almost twice as
long as the nr4 and all 4 are joining
collector. Normally performance header
is 4 into 2 and 2 into 1. and all pipes
sections ought to have same length

My two cents
Cheers ewhen

But It's aesthetically pleasing, nice and orderly, none of that bowl of spaghetti crap!

They look too short to me as well as on the fat side.....
