That looks trick, but I don't see how to do that the way they would industrially. You would need to make a form and then heat the metal and press it in forcefully. You could consider trying to make a solid piece you could braze on though. |

I read an article from a guy who makes replica knight armor, he had some pretty good tips with a hammer, chisel and and anvil. Saw another guy make his own flare with heat and a pipe, maybe if I combine the two... |

Thanks for the article, he does great work. Take a look at this thread for one of our members building a metal body from scratch. http://www.locostusa.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=18818 I am sure you can do it if you want to invest the time, I have a lot of work in front of me before I get to the exhaust tip! |

I just replaced the tip on my exhaust this weekend. Just a minor change in size and shape, but the exhaust sounds a lot different now. Something to consider. |

Jones makes several sizes (pn suffix JFC) but they are chrome. A bead roller could be used to form the bead then hammer the lip if the stainless were soft enough. I've never tried to find annealed 3xx stainless tube. A slip-on tip with hidden set screws underneath would be the easiest, cheapest thing. It's not like it will spend a lot of time out in the rain and weather to justify stainless imho. |
