Had a great time with the kids today at the Carmel Concours, down on Ocean Ave. Ran into Wayne Carini, of Chasing Classic Cars fame, and got a picture of him with the little ones. Talked to some friends from the Golden Gate Lotus Club at the Elan display, then met some real nice folks with an Elite. They let the kids sit in the car and make vroom sounds. They'll be racing it at Laguna this weekend... I'll be there on Saturday--I heard there are two 19's racing that day!! If any fellow Locosters are planning on going I'd love to meet up, say hello, and share a beer. Enjoy the photos! :D

Is that John Surtees' Lola T70, witth the broad-arrow stripe on the second page? I saw it race against Bruce Maclaren and Chris Amon in McLaren 2s at Circuit de Mont Tremblant (he whupped them) many years ago. The next year the orange McLaren 3s first appeared to begin Mclaren's contol of Can-Am racing until the arrival of Penske and Donahue with the Porche 917.

That beautiful 289 Cobra on page 2 belongs to a friend. He just finished restoration last month. It is not a trailer queen. Here he is racing it last weekend. Great pictures Joe, thanks for posting.

Great pictures. I love that area, one of my favorite places to ride when I lived on the left coast. Thanks for posting, the kids looked hooked. Good for them and you. The Wonder Bread car, I saw that running around IMS this year during the drivers meet the day before the 500. Cool old car.
