Ok, I owe you all a HUGE mae culpa for not keeping up on this. I'm sorry for the delay.

A while back, another enthusiast sent me privately some designs he created. I asked if I could repost them to the list. With his permission...

Opinions?

Chuck's (Rx7locost) line drawing is nice. I'd like to see a version without the passenger seat. The headrest part doesn't add anything although it's anatomically correct.

It might also look good in combination with one of the above schemes or just the way it was in his roll bar sticker. I think it is a good way to try and market the site and our cars.

Mr Hempy sir, you started this thread last August with an idea to make a semi-formal logo into a contest. I would like to have something on my car for the Midwest Gathering, which is less than 3 months away. I think it is about time to get this nailed down. There are some basic concepts and variations on each one of those themes. So in interest of getting things moving, I suggest we vote first for an overall concept, then have a second vote for the particular 1 or 2 variations on the winning concept's theme.

Forgive me if I left anybody out, for basic concepts we have the 1) variation on the Lotus badge, by 53sled, 2) side view line drawing with Locost incorporated in bodywork, originally from Andrewt and embellished by Matt Rogers, Duratec7 and cheapracer, 3) action line drawing based on Chet’s photo from rx7locost (me) , 4) the red-white and blue one just submitted by “another enthusiast”, 5) dream it build it drive it flag from 53sled, and more from DonChez, bmacke, D Bear and others.

I would like to eventually see a roll bar sticker (we don’t need no stinkin’ bumpers!) and a body sticker. But that is just me.

So how about it Mr. Dave? Can you somehow sift thru this mess and get us moving to a common ground for some stickers? OH, I forgot to ask, is that "Major Award" you posted a photo of, yours?

I like the leftmost (larger) tilted one shown below. However, I would change the "USA" to blue as in a couple of the others. I think this really helps "pop" the design.

Cheers,

I'd like to see this design in Green, Yellow and Black. I think that it would look much more Lotusey that way.

The red white and blue tilted logo reminds me of the dark days of the Indy Racing League, aka the IRL.

Oh dear, does that bring back memories... (shudder).

My apologies to the original artist for the mess that I've made trying to change the colors but it does provide an idea of what the shift to Lotus colors might look like. I much prefer the yellow, green, black color scheme to the red, blue, white.

what about me, my car doesn't look anything like a lotus/locost,

mabe we need to make the logo more of a dipiction of home built cars, although i have no idea how.

That green, black and yellow looks like the Jamaican flag and kind of reminds me of a Bob Marley tshirt!

Kewl. Maybe we should adopt the motto, "Don't worry, be happy" too since we're in a Jamaican kind of way.

Now, do they have goats in Jamaica? I know they have this girl. I wonder if she'll hold a goat to make olde JD happy? :headbang:

Cheers,
