as seen from a review of the Tesla on Jalopnik

http://oppositelock.jalopnik.com/2013-t ... 747@orlove

I am not sure if t is a front or rear hub, but it looks stout, apparently this car weighs as much as 5 locost. but it looks like a forged aluminum hub. interesting.

it looks like a front hub, judging by the other picture of the rear suspension.

interestingly, it has two lower ball joints, like a modern BMW, when the wheel is turned out, the king pin inclination increases and vice verser when the wheel turns in, also this gives the wheel a camber change, cambering less when the wheel turns out and again more when turned in.

I see a lot of Teslas where I am and interestingly enough I've not seen even one trailing flames.

I've sat in numerous ones, but never got to see the underside. That looks over engineered, but that's not necessarily a bad thing on a car that every one will be taking jabs at for even small issues.

Looking at the rear toe adjuster it made me wonder why they didn't just mount it on the lower A arm. It was certainly stout enough and that way you didn't worry about any toe changes under height changes, novamist shocks, or big bumps. They certainly tout it as a performance car and throw it around a lot in their literature and every road test I've ever seen of it.

Nope, that's a casting.
