Post subject:  Locost Build books in PDF form?

When i first learned about the Locost platform years ago, I purchased a few books to look through. I have since lost those books. And with the experience I have gained as well as this extremely helpful forum. I don't really have a need to purchase another book. However, I have been talking a few people into building their own Locost car  . They have asked if me if I had any PDF formatted books to get them started.

So if you have (and want to share) any PDF versions of books for a beginner to look into, please email it to me at sen2two@yahoo.com

Thanks!

As long as the author is compensated appropriately...

Give them some names of your favorite reference books. Let them find them on ebay or google in used form, or check out from their public library.

Better yet, let them signup here and read thru some of the build logs that interest them. There is nothing like getting a taste of real world problems that we run into and need to solve.

Not to mention the publisher. There are a number of entities involved in growing an idea into a printed book that somebody else can scan a page at a time and put on the internet, and as long as it's in print, all of them have a vested interest in not getting ripped off for their time and effort, which is why we have copyright laws and publishing contracts*.

But when a book is out of print, things get a bit fuzzier. Same with cars that have gone out of production. Ford hasn't sold a Model T part for generations, yet there's a thriving industry making replacement parts that Ford won't.

* Something I wish I'd done when I was getting published was insist that rights revert to the author if the book goes out of print.
