Always browsing & from time to time get the dislike of having 2 car notes.
Found a pretty clean [Carfax indicates minor RF collision without airbag deployment] 14 Clubman S that I could nearly even swap for my Explorer.
We have 2 3-row SUVs which has been a bit redundant, and I've always wanted a Mini, just don't know a ton on anything in specific to look out for on them.
Briefly looked at the earlier supercharged models, but read a lot about SC failure on them after 80k or so, and the extra space with the Clubman would be appreciated. I've been a backseat passenger in a R53 & it's not a fun experience for someone 6'0"

Years ago I test drove a pair of JCWs, a hatch & a Clubman & recall liking the Clubman a lot, but they were well out of my budget at the time [when they were new].

R56 require a bit more "love" than most cars, especially the S. Expect lots of oil leaks, coolant leaks, sunroof leaks and timing chain rattles/replacements. The later R56 are a bit better than the earlier ones. On a positive note, they are fun to drive.

2014 would be the last production year of the R55 [Clubman] Those issues give me a bit of pause, though.
I think the hatch went to the 3rd gen in 2014.

I have had many Minis, and loved most of them. I have also replaced many timing chains on the 2007-2014 models as well as HPFP and turbo seals. Also the leaks from the oil filter housing are a pain to fix.

If I was buying one, it would be a 2015+ They have less problems.

My brother recently picked up a 09 JCW for cheap due to a bad clutch. I think it was cheap for more than that as everything I talk to him its down for something. First it was the clutch, then throttle body, then valve cover/pcv, now for no compression in cyl 1.
