I live in a country..with so many rules and regulations.. its hardly worth while building a car..first off they want you to buy a build manual $250..then you have to have each bit certified ..well stuff them... im building what i want to ... i dont care if i cant use it after its finished or if i may have trouble selling it..im building something ...MY WAY.I am enjoying the actual build experience..its going to be a race car..if it actually ever see's a track is a different story..

 Kiwi Dave

You mean they don't just certify the finished car? How many "certifications" does it have to have??

if a car is modified in any way..then that modification has to be certified ..so say you buy a car thats already modified it should have a plate on the firewall stating all the modifications and that they have been checked..any subsequent ..mods have to be certified and added to the plate..its costly and a giant pain in the poo poo

Thanks Botbasher..just having a bad day and having a moan..just sick of stupid rules and regulations it was so much simpler when you could just get on with it.....i mean how many home built cars do you hear about crashing from a breakage and the owner being killed ...big fat ..zero...they just want to regulate it so someone is making money out of it ..what a bunch of BULL DOO DOO

 Kiwi Dave

I would not have thought NZ was like that considering how many 429 Cobra Jets and 454 Chevelles we have lost to you guys.
Bureaucrats = Tin Pot Dictators, the world over.

I haven't seen that show, but it's probably as hokey as the other so-called "reality" TV shows.

I can tell you, from personal experience, that I used to get a peanut butter jar of home-made liquor every year at Christmas time from one of my well-drilling buddies back in West-By God-Virginia. He'd always tell me he didn't know who made it, just found it in the woods. We all knew his brother made it, but everybody played along. Good stuff, whether you wanted to get drunk or clean carbs, that was the stuff to use! :ack:

Ahhhh, the good old days...

The "Oz" bit didn't give it away?? Football, meat pies, kangaroos and Holden cars ...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VGW-WX77zjY

Yeah, missus and I have been seriously discussing living in the US of Americaland part time if our Daughter ends up working there, they seriously overate themselves but seem like a decent bunch overall. (waits for bites  ).

I am over the restrictions of living in Oz along with the rampant cynicism and whining and like the Septic Tank's accepting and encouraging attitude much better. My best mates in Oz have always been Kiwi's for similar reasons, Kiwi's really do "Just do it" (good as gold!).

But I wouldn't live in NZ, why there's no snakes or lizards (my favorites) and only birds that don't fly!
