Geeez, these Corvette guys are sure learning how to tease us! Ten minutes after I responded to Tom's post, I got notification of a new teaser video for the Corvette convertible, and the C8.R race car. They will be revealed "in the Fall" according to text in the video located here.

The convertible looks awesome, but you're going to have to pause the video to actually see it. There's actually more video on the C8.R, which makes me very happy.

Cheers,

So not a Blackwing, but perhaps borrowing the hot V technology to locate the turbos between the DOHC heads?
GM has the technology if the bean counters let it out the door.
Could be interesting. :D
Or not. :cry:

@seattletom

Yup, it could be interesting, Tom. That's all I know myself about the new engine. I say, we'll likely know more when the C8.R data is released this fall. The C8.R testing at Sebring definitely had one or more turbos. The V6-like sound it had may be because of the flat plane crank V8, and the 9,000+ RPM redline it supposedly has. Who knows for sure at this point?

I love the idea of a WEC super car with the hybrid best of all.

Cheers,
