Hey all,
I have been building a VR game about working on cars. The first car is a Bauer Catfish and I am planning to include other kit cars and a miata based locost as well. I put up a video today that shows an early prototype. This is just some of the basic functionality, there will be tools, objectives, and some aspect of shop management.

An original concept, and it looks like you have the skills to pull it off. Keep us informed.

Also, if anyone here has an original chassis design for a locost that uses miata parts, and would like to see it in a game, let me know. It would need to be visually different from a seven so that I don't have legal issues. I am planning to design one of my own but am open to more options.

The video game looks great. I think where the success of the game is going to be the right amount of difficulty to get the job done. No one wants to spend 10 minutes looking for a bolt but on the other hand if you complete the project to quickly the game will be boring. Any thoughts on going a custom frame where you could weld your own pieces or modify an existing chassis.

Good luck, it looks great so far.

Great looking sample video. If you're looking for an original chassis, I assume you need one that has been rendered in AutoCad or SolidWorks or?

That would be best but I can also rebuild it if there are good drawings or detailed information.

See if this helps. Paul's plans are a good start.

Great work

Only it doesn't match reality. I never once saw anything dropped into an inaccessible corner where nothing but a 2 year old could get into.

Seriously, very nice VR game you have going. You'd probably have a huger (Is that really a word? :D ) audience if you could offer various different vehicles, for a premium of course.

I wish my wheel studs were so easy to install.
Nice illustration but missing an occasional step, such as pressing in wheel studs.
No cotter pins for the ball-joint nuts?
I think you said it was a demo, hope the final version catches a few more details.
You KNOW some folk are going to take this as "Gospel" instructional material.

Tools are coming later, including a shop press. Also, if you watch carefully a cotter pin magically appears on each castle nut when it is installed :)
