Hello,
I am in the middle of planning a build but have decided I'd like to try and sit in a book chassis before I build. I was planning a +442 but would like to keep it as light and small as possible.

I am located in the Green Bay, WI area but will drive quite a bit to test fit in one. This is not me looking to test drive your car or buy it from you(unless it's for sale lol), just a test fit.

Ryan

And Russ (trialsmangasgas) will be there with a book frame car sometime in June/July.

And just in case the book frame is a "No GO", you might consider a 221 (Haynes/Gibbs) as an option! Just sayin'!

I have seen the one in green bay(Tundra7) and it is amazing but it is also a +442.

The +221 is interesting, I will have to look into that a little more.

221 is what I'm planning on, but still in the dream stage.

You know, what might be a little more to the point is whether you fit in the seat or not? If your local speed shop has Kirkey seats, you can test yourself in those and see what width you need. Subtract at least 6" from a transmission tunnel from the inside dimension of the frame rails and you have the max seat width you can fit (assuming the tunnel is centered). If you can fit in that seat comfortably, you're good?

ZiG is right, you just need to fit in a seat. Length isn't a problem, even in a book frame. If you go with traditional bench seats, then you have the full width of the driver's compartment, about 17" in a book frame and 18" in a 221.
