Well I guess since the car is as close to finished as I will ever see it I will make a post in this section.
The car is a scratch built book based frame, modified to accept and work with the donor Miata's various bits. (also various other strengthening mods)
Other specs are as follows.
QA-1 Promastar coilovers with 350lb. springs in the rear, and 400lb. up front.
Kirkey Economy drag seats, 15.5" wide.
1988 RX-7 LSD
All fiberglass is from Kinetic.
15" wheels 205/50R15 tires.
Miata sport package swaybars front and rear.
A arms made from 1" OD 16g DOM.
Roll bar 1.75" OD, .095" thickness.
"Shorty" windsheild kit from Kinetic
Miata 1.8 engine
Miata transmission, uprights, brakes, and modified steering rack and column.
Running on the ECU and harness from 1990 Miata donor.
For more details see build log here.

Car recently sold to Jack McCornack who is currently driving it to Oregon via Florida.

the new owner looks very happy ;p
the new paint looks nice, but i always was a fan of this car for the flat/gloss black paint. Each to his own i guess...

BTW: have fun with that, Jack :drive:

Wow! Looking good!

I like the new paint. Looks like you've picked up quite a score, Jack!

Thanks guys. I painted it that color scheme at Jack's request. It's the Miata paint code (RU IIRC) Britsh Racing Green as mixed by my local Sherwin Williams. At first I wasn't wild about it, but at that point it wasn't my car. :) However after looking at it a few days I have to admit it grew on me. Jack wasn't a fan of the sinister black, and the car will now make a suitable stunt double for MAX. :P

Or the other way around? :)

The nose looks like it has a greenish tint. Did you paint it green first?

Nope, but if you ever get the misfortune of trying to cover black with yellow you will understand. :P
Suffice to say it could use a few more coats.

Chet: Looks great! Congrats on the rebuild, I'm sure you've done a fine job for Jack. Now, about that next build...

Jack: The car would look even better with some wide yellow stripes!

I love this car. I am really interested in the roll bar. Do you have a picture of (for lack of a better term) inside the trunk? I want to see how the cage ties into the frame. Thanks Jason

If you can leave two black stripes from the exit of one corner to the braking zone of the next, you have enough horsepower.
