Hi Everyone! My name is Tuck Rion, I live on the coast of South Carolina near Myrtle Beach. I have just recently finished my Locost project and thought that I would post some pictures. But first I would like to thank everyone here on this forum because this is an invalueble resource.
Now, some information about the car. The engine is a 1986 Mazda 13B six port, it has been street ported and has a weber 45 DCOE. The engine was rebuilt by Ernst at RX-7 World in Rock Hill, SC. I can't recommend Ernst enough, he did a great job, was timely and continues to be a valueble resource. The transmission, rear end and steering are from a 1985 RX-7. The front brakes and pedals are from a 1993 Miata. The steering columm is from a 1993 Chevy Corsica, which mates up nicely with the generic GM wiring harness. The car weighs in at 1380 pounds. I haven't done any work on a Dyno yet, but plan to here in the near future. We think that the engine is somewhere in the 200-225 HP range. I still have a few loose ends to finish up, and there will be ongoing re-enginering and upgrades, but then thats half fun of owning one of these. So far the little car has exceded my expectations and fits my definition of a sports car. Which is A. It has to hurt to get in and out of it, B. It has to leak when it rains, C. It has to have the right sound, and D. After you drive it, it takes a plastic surgeon to get the smile off your face! Enough said, now here are some pictures.

Enjoy!

Tuck

That looks great, like a load of fun!

So correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like you have lines for a heater core, can I ask what your heater setup is and how well it works?

Also, what wheels are those, they look nice!

Yo Tuck-
Great looking car, sir! Congratulations on a job very well done.

One question, after reading your definition of a sports car: Did you used to own an MG?

Regards-
JDK

Very nice build. Congratulations. The Weber really drops the overall height of the engine. It looks like you extended the shifter rearward about 8 inches or so. Can you share any details about that? Aslo, what radiator are you using?

Hi Gonzo! I once owned a Austin Healy 3000 and a XKE. I truly understand why the british drink warm beer. They all have refridgeraters made by Lucas!

Thanks,

Tuck

Hi! And thanks for the comments, especially from someone else using rotary power! Yes the dcoe really makes for low compact package. Also I'm kinda old school and am better with a carb than the FI. As far as the shifter, it is not extended, thats where it ended up. The radiator is one that I picked up on ebay, it is a three pass aluminum racing one intended for an Acura Integra. It has done the job so far, but the proof will be this summer as it gets pretty warm here on the SC coast.

Thanks,

Tuck

Hi Reddeth! The heater is a 12000 btu from Summit Racing. It seems to put out good heat. However since I have not yet put a top on the car it is difficult to determine how well it really works. The wheels are RS Limited, 18X7 1/2 with BF Goodrich G-Force 225 35 18 VR tires. Thanks for comments and god luck with your build.

Thanks,

Tuck

Looks great. Any video clips? What frame did you base it on? Book-size?

I love the paint job, and the hood scoop is nicely done. Pretty wheels.

The steering wheel is classy!

Now, give more info and pics about your passenger.

Hi jsulivan! Thanks for looking. The passenger is my daughter Hannah, and she is the prettiest and most classy thing that I have ever created!
