I have "view new posts" bookmarked. This is the way I normally enter this website. After reading the posts I want, it would be good to be able to have a way to "mark topics read" from that page rather than have to go the the main page. Can this be added to the "view new posts" page?

Sure. Thing is the mods and admins are not PHPBB developers, so it's relatively high effort to do these things and then makes it difficult to update because we have to bring all our customizations forward too...

Reasonable request, but not so sure we can make it happen...

Really, if it is an effort and makes it difficult for maintenance going forward, don't bother. The admin's don't really need more work that is necessary to operate this forum. I can deal with the few extra clicks. I was thinking, if it was just a digital switch to throw then......
