Yeah, it looks really, really nice in that engine compartment. It's a lot cleaner than my home office, and a world cleaner than my shop space.

The thing that really hits me is how much space you have in the engine bay. Kinda makes me wish for an I4 in place of my 90° V6.

Cheers,

Thanks Lonnie. I didn't want a remote shift so I pushed the engine back until
I had the shifter where I needed it and decided it would work. It also will more center the weight. On the original Lotus that engine is so far forward it's like a 911 in reverse. It makes room up front for a nice size intercooler if I get that far. Sort of hoping I don't need it. If the weight stays in check like I think it will. Goal weight. Don't laugh now! 850# with wet. Fuel is 9.5gal.

Ok. This is 1/4" steel on both ends. The tube is actually pipe sch40 stainless with full pen welds built out. I don't know. Try it? The rubber mounts are Jaguar 6cyl motor mounts.

The plate didn't look that thick from the pictures. I'd say give them a shot and keep an eye on them.

Valve cover and intake came back from powdercoat and I picked up the stripped head to start port and polish. Pretty easy. Dremel with a flex head is the tool for sure. I'll list what I've used probably tomorrow in case anyone is interested. Just cleaning casting marks and gasket match and of course polish when I am done. No shaping or major blending this head goes south pretty fast from what I've read. These i'am calling ready for polish. The casting marks on the side walls are smooth I would have to take a lot more out and I'am afraid to go their.

These worked the best for getting down the runners. You need the sanding spirals for getting down the runners and following the contours to knock down the casting marks. Then I ran down the runners with the gray round pinwheel. It's kind of neet. It's a tough plastic but has a grit to it. Used on runners and in the Bowles. The stainless brush was for general clean up around the seats to get out some carbon. Then polish with the puffy pads. Those came in 180 and 240. Their delicate but work awesome. You'll need a bunch. They will buff to a shine. Next polish with rouge.
I had to order some rubber diamond grinders from Amazon so the combustion chambers aren't done yet.

Thanks for that info on doing the cylinder heads. They look really good!

Hey Toni. I've seen your build. I love it, very nice. I thought about that pan mod. Little story: 3 yrs ago my buddies finished a '27A and left the whole car 3.5" off the ground. You almost couldn't fit your boot under the car. Never had an issue with clearance. I have 3.5" GC. I know it's tight. I think it will be ok. Thanks for the post though. I do have a couple questions. Where did your rear fenders come from and your tail lights? I like them. You put together a really nice car. How do you choose between the cobra and the 7?

I haven't posted anything because I've been WORKING :BH:
I know a guy with a water jet so I had a exhaust flang made. I also made a big order today for all my electrical except gauges and seat heaters. So soon the overtime will end and garage time :P and brewing beer will begin.

Putting together a wire package things like switches and stuff rolling in. What do you think of the gauge package I am planning. The pointer is blue at night. These guys have killer gauges. Next week I am going to start laying out wire runs and ordering loom

I really like their gauges as well, I've been thinking about the all-in-one, and adding the 7 in the background.

The thing I don't like is the price.....

I did a bunch of looking at Autometer and some of the others and they were more money. Gauges are crazy for cost. I was really shocked.

Maybe we could do a 2-1, you buy two and ship me one? :D

Keep in mind I'm pretty sure those aren't water proof, even water resistant.

Ha! Good try. I emailed speedhut a couple years ago about that. They said to order the gauges with a note to add silicone. That would help. They also reminded me that they had a lifetime warranty and that if any gauges got ruined to send them in for a replacement.
