Thanks Chuck. I had two small coolant leaks and have to figure out the bug in my tach. It doesn't match the computer. I'll change oil this week (some fuel in it from all the cranking) and futs with this computer again on Sat. I have a guy off a tuner site that offered to help. He owns a shop in Alberta. He changed my tune a bit. Things are looking up.

That is a great reward when it fires up the first time. Congratulations!

What did you wind up using for a ECU? Are you using the Microsquirt?

I am on the Micro. I am only using half of the capacity for this car. For the price it does have a lot of options.

Hey! Congratulations!

That is a huge step. It even has a very appropriate "sports car" sound. It looks like you know what you're doing with that laptop too.

Cheers,

Thanks Lonnie, I couldn't see the screen outside. I wanted the auto tune to start picking up the WUE (Warm up Auto tune). It wouldn't do it. This Wednesday I found out why. You'll love this. I never programed the O2 controller. Read that again. SO DUMB!. Anyway the self loathing is over. I programmed it and along with my new found friend Evan in Alberta a new tune with new timing and everything. We'll just pretend I know what I am doing with the computer. :ack:.

One advice i ran across so far is buy slip on flexes. My first one leaked it was a weld on one also the leaking is bad for O2 readings. I have a new one today thats going on along with a 6" muffler. my son said his floor was vibrating upstairs in his room. I didn't think it was that bad but may have been. Its a whole new weekend lets GO!!!!!

Great work. All these little steps will increase our understanding. Soon you will be flying around the Megasquirt software like a pro.

Had a great day with the tuning today. I have not been able to restart the car above 110 degrees. I found someone else that had a similar problem on a megasquirt forum that I am on and did what he did. Well it got me close to the point where it popped and had a 50/50 shot as to which way to run the fuel and injectors. I chose to pull the fuel and pulsewith on the injectors and she ripped off.
They always say baby steps right. Now the car isn't heating above 142 degrees and the fan is coming on for a couple minutes and turning on. So i guess ill pull the thermostat and see if its stuck open. I also found out if you have a rich start and it fouls the plugs it effects the O2 sensor and that stops working along with auto tune turning off or just having junk to digest. Is your head spinning yet?!!!. Yup its like that. We'll get it.

Yes, MegaSquirt is a huge step, but it really is worth the effort. It changes the way you look at engine control. It also allows you to tune your engine to a "T". I have a fueling situation that carburetors could never handle effectively. But with MS, I just have a power surge.

Your car is beautiful and I can see you are going to love it.

Bill
