12" is too tall for the spoiler if you are running EMod (which I presume you are). The spoiler can only be 10" tall at the center point but can extend out horizontally from that point, so it can be taller over the fenders. The width of the spoiler can be as wide as the fenders at axle height.

Edit: You can corner balance a car fairly accurately by measuring the spring lengths. If you can get each side spring to be within a 16" of length then the car will be within about 20lbs on the scale. It might be worth doing before hand to save some time on your buddies scales.

You needed this ballast to meet weight in class right?

Yep. The car was way too light for E Mod. Closer to D Mod weight, but running a restrictor to be in D Mod kind of defeats the purpose. The car would run out of breathing room by 4500 rpm.

Dang it. Went back to the rule book and 10" is max. Guess the spoiler will get a little trim one night this week. That's what happens when you go from memory and suffer from CRS.

On to today. It was a mixed bag of Honey Do's and car project.
Honey Do's
Replaced the torn up weather stripping on all 3 entry doors. Our cat freaks out and shreds the stuff when she gets left outside.
Sanded and filled the cat clawed trim... see above about cat freak out.
Bought and installed a new dishwasher. Ours was 9 years old and making some unhappy grumbly / grindy noises. It sounded like it had eaten a mixed bag of rocks and marbles.
Took down outside carriage lights so Wifey Dearest could disassemble and repaint them.

On to the car after the dishwasher was installed.
I picked up where I left off with the spoiler. While we were at Lowes buying a dishwasher I grabbed another box of rivets and a tube of construction adhesive.
All of the sheet metal screws came out of body panels and everywhere accessible got a shot of construction adhesive to cut down on the rattles and buzzing of aluminum on frame.
I screwed it all back together then set to work going around the car and replacing most of the screws with rivets.

The brake kit showed up yesterday. Wifey Dearest and I went out to grab a bite to eat, then I was off to the garage for an hour.

Goodbye tiny little early NA rotors, hello big brakes.

Done in about an hour with plenty of time to shower and chill before the Cubs game came on.

Tonight I need to trim down the rear spoiler and take her for a shakedown cruise through the neighborhood.

Took today off work. I needed to burn a vacation day as I've got a week at Thanksgiving and 2 weeks at Christmas planned and still had a day left over.

Seemed like a good idea with the War at the Shore coming up tomorrow.

Last night I gave the spoiler a hair cut to make it legal.

Today's projects
Dial in a little more caster which also adds some camber gain. I added a degree from 5 to 6 and that give me an extra degree of camber gain from 3 to 4 on turn in.

Mount my tablet holder. That way I can have the tablet running Track Addict and gather some more data with each run.

Modify the hood scoop. Switched it to mount on the inside of the bonnet.

Add a pair of hinges to the bonnet. Now I can just swing it up against the roll bar, but not remove it.

Add some air to the tires, chalk them up, and go for a couple of hot laps around the neighborhood. I wanted to see if the ballast had improved handling. Seems to be doing the trick. I was able to push it pretty hard around the cul de sac without swinging the rear out.

Check brake bias... I can FINALLY lock up the fronts before the rears. I have to get on the brakes pretty dang hard to make it lock up. I've got some nice braking ability now with the big rotors up front.

Tomorrow I have 3 goals for the autocross
1. Don't break anything
2. get faster each run
3. Have Fun

I'm liking all the updates! How many degrees of camber are you running? Looking forward to videos. I need to make it to one of your auto-x's with the kart before it gets cold. When is your last one?

last one is tomorrow down at Roebling road
we start back up in February

Front camber is -1 1/2 with a good bit of gain now on turn in. I was reviewing pics from earlier event and thought I could use more gain with the amount of body roll I have.

Well damn. I'll see you in Feb then. Should give me plenty of time to fix 2 engine mount bolts. LöL.

It's always as close to Pearl Harbor day as we can make it. This year. Sunday Dec 4th. You'll want to come down on Saturday. The event is in Moultrie, GA, and starts with a "Surprise Attack" from the Japanese forces at 0753, when the first bombs fell on Pearl. There will be more info popping up on the Dixie Region Facebook page soon.

Awesome. I'll have to make the drive down. On the 2nd I'll be at VIR for charity laps. Knock the exhaust out while I'm there?
