Yo, Tommy-
What are the "Matthew" predictions for your area? You ain't that far from the coast, right? Looks like this one will miss Tallahassee... We hope.

I think this might be a good time for you to go visit relatives in South Dakota... Be safe, Bro...

Latest forecast has it turning out to sea. I believe this forecast about as much as I believed the last one which was coming ashore in Charleston. I'll keep an eye on the track and make a decision tomorrow.
Right now I'm planning to stay. Casa Samuels / Too Busy Garage is about 20 miles as the crow flies from the Charleston peninsula. I'm at 31 feet above sea level and nowhere near a flood plain.

Stocked up on the essentials; beer, wine, BBQ and Oreos. Bring it on!

Tommy,

If you end up running from the storm I think you should come up north and pick up another Too Busy-type project. http://www.autotrader.ca/a/Austin-Heale ... rup=8_15_8

I like a Sebring roadster. Can't tell if price is right or not without some actual pictures of the kit.

The last "stored" kit I looked at had all of the soft bits eaten by mice.

Casa Samuels / Too Busy garage is located at the tip of the arrow.
We have food, water, ice, gasoline, and cooking ability. Yard is cleared of everything that could become airborne. Wish my neighbors would do the same.

NWS says we'll have Tropical storm force winds by 5pm and cat 1 overnight in the 5am range.

We're battened down and hoping it doesn't all go sideways with a more inland track.

Stay safe! In Sarasota we were completely unaffected by the Hurricane just some slightly high winds knocking off small branches from tree and a little rain. Hopefully you and everyone else gets though unharmed.

Lots of rain and wind overnight. Still have power.

The eye wall is about 20 miles east of us right now. Charleston was lucky that the water started piling up as the tide was falling.

So far so good here at Casa Samuels

Very good news, Tommy! I hope it doesn't get any worse than that...

A buddy of mine in JAX rode the storm out at home. Lot's of wind and rain, he has a new leak in his roof but not visible damage. Didn't lose electricity either. Said it was a pretty scary night, but all are OK, even his 94 year old father in law who also stayed home.

Hang in there!

Wind on the back side is far worse than the leading edge. The worst of the rain is past us but now 35 mph sustained winds with gusts 50-55.
No damage that I've noticed, just a lot of small branches down right now.
Neighbor across the street is losing shingles with every big gust.

Matthew update
Power went out Saturday not long after my last post. Wind continued to build until about 2pm. Highest gust reported close to us was 65mph with 50mph sustained for a while.
We had 14 inches of rain in about 12 hours.

Good news is Casa Samuels / Too Busy Garage made it through unscathed. Spent yesterday helping friends and neighbors clear debris.
With my underlying philosophy of Do something on the car every single week, I final trimmed the hood scoop, did a little sanding and riveted it down. It's incredible how much rigidity the scoop gave to the bonnet.

I fired her up and went for a short cruise around the neighborhood before driving up on the trailer to tuck away while I travel this week.
Bonnet it just resting on the car. I need to screw it down or get some hold downs here pretty quick. There's a solo event this weekend if the planets align, otherwise the 22nd at Michelin Proving Grounds; aka Black Lake.

I like that picture as the guy riding by on the bicycle checks the car out.

So the 7 is ready to take out to play next weekend. We have our last points event of the season on Saturday. I don't have any points so it doesn't really matter other than a chance to take her out to play.

I haven't changed a great deal since my first outing a couple of months ago, Things I did do
Replaced the crush washers on the turbo lines so it won't spit oil on the course.
Put s belly pan under the motor, so if it does spit oil, it'll stay in the car. :P
Changed the intercooler plumbing to get it all under the bonnet
connected all of my data logging and sensors for the Digi Dash
set from toe to 0, Set front camber to -2, Set rear toe to -1, Set rear camber to -1
I'm HOPING these will help keep the rear planted a little better when the turbo spools up
bled the brakes and got the front calipers to stop sticking (I hope)
finished the bodywork to it's current state.

The bonnet is an experiment. When I took it out for a drive earlier today the sun reflecting off it was blinding, so back to the house, scuff sanded the bonnet and shot it with aluminum paint. Finished it off with 3 coats of rattle can flat clear. It looks somewhere between dull aluminum and primer now. Went out for another drive and soooo much better.

The hold downs didn't come in this week, so the bonnet is screwed down for now. When the hold downs show up I'll do a little more trimming, fold a flange so it rests on the top rail and snug it up. Until then, this works just fine.

Looking good Tommy!! I'm loving the body work and the rear fenders. The back end looks sexy with the tires exposed.
