Nice thing about running off at T9 is that you just drive straight into the hot pit.
Try to pull it back into the track and this might just be the last thing that you'll ever do with your car... BAD crashes happen to those who try to go back onto the track at T9.

Excellent times!
Way to go!

My instructor for my first HPDE made me repeat something to him about 50 times before he let me on the track. "Don't be a hero. Two feet in." It's burned in my brain now.

Turn 9 at Willow springs is a high speed decreasing radius corner that is notorious for high speed crashes.
The trick is to remember that going off at T9 isn't all that terrible because it is pretty much a straight shor from the wide hot pit enterance so you can just drive it off straight into the hot pit and have plenty of space to slow yourself down.

For those who try to correct their line back onto the track there are a couple of nasty surprises waiting, as the small ditch on the side pulls back onto the track and throws the car completely out of control to the other side of the track, that is as you're doing anything between 85-110.
Sounds bad enough?
It gets worse.
On the other side of the track there's a 3 ft. tall gravel hill that sends you flying HIGH.
I've seen with my own eyes an E30 M3 racecar catching 15 ft. of air under the car before hitting the ground and doing 5 or 6 end over end flips.
It is a BAD corner to crash in.

PS - Sorry for the hijack, Alex!

No prob black.

I was lucky that I went off at the turn in point for 9. Its kinda of a decreasing radius turn so you try to ride alone the outter edge of the track for a bit before you start aiming for the apex. I just couldnt see the edge of the track and missed the turn in. It would have been cool if I jumped that car, maybe not 15 feet in the air but 5 feet would have been fun. Its been a while since I've done some rally racing.

Sorry for not updating this thread in a while. For some reason i wasnt able to log on under my original name so its just alexP now. I put the hot rod on the side while the lexy was being built but now that the lexy is done, I brought the car down to the shop and fixed it back up again. New front brakes, new hydro ebrake, rebuilt the trans, rebuilt the rear end with a new kaaz diff cause the old one exploded. Ran the ken block gymkhana invitational with it this weekend and got fastest time of the day plus an invite for the main event in dec 3, 4th at irwindale but not sure if the locost will be legal because they want production based vehicles. Anyway, here are some vids.

I just went thru the same thing. Send Hempy or ViolentBlue a PM saying that your old account was closed, and they'll reopen it for you. I guess some accounts were accidentally closed a few months back.

Damn Charlie, havent seen you in ages, since i brought that locost up there and that bracket broke off. I was so pissed. What made you move out there?

I have another chassis sitting in the garage and been thinking about building another car but without all the mistakes the current car has. Also been thinking that if im going to build another car, its got to be the fastest machine on the road so been thinking of doing an ultima gtr instead. LS2 power with twin turbo, try to get 1000hp on pump gas and about 2500lbs. I want something so stupidly fast that all you have to do is turn it on and you get scared for your life.
