File comment: This is from a while ago. I know there are several other guys who have used haycos engineering. But in my experience their performance was less than stellar. I would recommend sourcing these parts from elsewhere.

Good quality, just lacking in everything else.

So I will probably have to see if I can get the name of this thread changed since the only remaining BMW parts left that are usable in my build are the steering rack and column.

Running the numbers in a friendly competition with my brother to see whos calculated top speed would be. I discovered mine would tap out at 65 MPH. Turns out BMW uses a very low gearing in their diffs. Since I am using a miata diff this engine/trans combo was no longer suitable. As luck would have it I have a firend in need of the parts I no longer needed and greater luck still found a used ka24e engine and trans and driveshaft on craigslist not too far down the road for $100!

Much better gear ratios that are on par for a miata diff.

File comment: Since this photo I discovered that the 240sx driveshaft is much too large to fit in current tunnel. So I had to remove it and widen it.

Man has anyone else who has used a miata diff carrier wound up with seized bolts in the lower control arms too? These things wouldnt budge. I used pb blaster, ATF and even a torch, but no luck. I ended up having to cut them.

Got the motor mounts in. Now I can strip the block and begin rebuilding the motor. Since the engine and transmission were out I figured I could go ahead and put a floor in it too. I ended up using 16ga sheet. Its a bit thick but I decided to err on the side of caution here.
