Don't forget about the goats and the donkey. I started my build log with a mistake, does that count?

Well I was going to build the rear end to the Haynes plans and modify for the Miata rear Diff. After looking at the Vodou plans I decided to just go that route as it is designed for the Miata. So removed what I had done and started over.

Parts are just laying there, not measured or tacked in yet.

Started on the roll bar mounts. Took hours to cut all the plate out. Figured I'd start there, install verticals and then flesh in the center.

Measured wrong when drilling the plate. So had to re drill the holes.

No big deal, welded a plate underneath and filled the holes.

The rear diff mount made and tacked in. Still some doublers and diagonal to make back there.

Can do carguy123. It is an open diff, one of the weak ones.

Open diff I have no problem with, but I wasn't considering it was an earlier one and weaker. It may still be useful as a mock up.

I'm headed down to COTA for the car race next month so that would be a good time to pick it up. Let me know how much you want for it.

Been away from the project for awhile. Normal life stuff getting in the way. Had to get a new roof installed on the house because of storm damage. Went ahead and had a metal roof installed.

And while I was at home watching roofers work I decided it would be a perfect time to get some welding done. Welded what I could on the table, then flipped up on its side and got some more done.

Did so much I ran out of welding gas. So I decided to clean up the engine and transmission in preparation of fabbing up mounts and aligning everything.

I have alot more cleaning to do on it, but its good enough for now. Need to tear it down later so will get cleaned better then.

Any progress on this? I'm watching to figure out which way to go, Voudoo or Saturn Sports Car MX-5 chassis.

Thanks!
Randy
