Hello, here is the report about my work. Today finished welding the roll cage. What I can tell. The fit of the parts took a week. Tried to fit everything without gaps as in the 3D model (very helpful by the way). Welded all day very tired.

Tomorrow will be engaged in the pedals. Here Turner has made me a balancer.

You're doing great! The only thing I might add - thought it's a bit late - is "the more lights, the better." Makes it so much easier to work and avoid mistakes.

Yes, I agree. Light is not enough. But I can work a current on the evenings and weekends. And the fact that I own a chunk of the garage (rent good garage will eat up my entire budget for the building), and the owner there, nothing is going to do no light, no repairs. So everything around looks so shabby.

You're doing a very nice job on those pedals. In fact, your whole build looks good.

It's just a thought, but if you can locate any of those arrangements of LED lights from Asia that run on rechargeable batteries, that might help you out. You could move them around while you're working, and take them home to charge when not.

I've been surprised at how much light they put out. You can get them as work lights on adjustable stands, or as a strip of lights you place overhead. They're pretty inexpensive.

Cheers,

Are you looking to buy one or make one? I believe the original makers of the fiberglass parts for the Haynes prototype are on to other things now and no longer supply parts. There are a number of vendors in the United Kingdom (UK) who make them, however.

Here is just one. There are several. ==> http://www.kitcardirect.co.uk/haynes-ro ... e-grp.html

Cheers,

Thanks, actually I started to work in November 2016. This is excluding time studying theory (read and translated books your authors, because we don't write anything like that) and even create 3D models (we measured rear axle, steering knuckles, steering, etc...), as well as designing the suspension geometry and fit it to the frame of the Lotus. In General, a lot of time)))

Thanks for the link. I haven't decided yet. I collect information and then make a decision or to make or to buy.

I decided to paint, and then the cold close. Well, that would not rusted. Painted paint 3 in 1.

Now actively busy shopping brake discs and calipers. And I want to take the aluminum sheets on the bottom and side panels. Here I plan to take the bottom corrugated sheet is 2mm thick and the sidewall is smooth 1mm. АМг2Н Brand = 5052 full hard. The bottom plan to mount on the exhaust studs with a diameter of 4 or 5 to 8mm in increments of 25 mm

Hi, everybody.
I saw enough, of your experience as you rivet floors and a covering decided to buy the tool. Since at us in the city such isn't on sale, found the next current in Moscow (5000km from me). I ordered pincers and clamps. And what not to waste time I asked to send the express delivery in 2 days. The seller honestly sent everything and here began transport company brought with a current delay in a week. I used foul language long but when received it was very glad. At once I went to garage and I tested him. Very convenient thing!!! Here result. So far current I drilled openings. Tomorrow I will go a purchase of a rivet and polyurethane sealant.

Hi all. Yesterday I bought a donor car, only $ 260. This is the legendary VAZ 2102. Her former owner had put a injector! It is for him that I hunted. With the car I'll take the motor, gearbox, wiring, control unit and so on the little things, and the rest is sold as scrap metal. This is the motor I want to boost. To increase the volume, put evil the camshaft and throttle body from a Toyota Levin. The experience there.

Congratulations on getting a donor car. That's a big step in the process...

And using a Vaz 2102 as a donor might be a "First" for this forum. Well Done, Sir!!!
