Greetings....

Been lurking here for a while and figured it was time to join the forum.

I've been sorting a '91 Westfield over the last few months and I'm pleased it's back on the road. With hope, all it now needs is a little tinkering of the Webers and she'll be ready for springtime fun.

Cheers,

Trog

Looks great! Are you the guy with the hood buck listed on CL? And are you going to have it at the ABFM in May?

Hi Rod,

Yes, that's my buck. In fact, a fellow is coming up from WA this weekend to pick it up. With hope, it will work out for him.

If I still have the car, the ABFM is most definitely in the plans. Since putting my Westy on the road this week, I've already received a couple of offers to sell it. But it's just too much fun to drive to be thinking of selling it this early in the season.

Cheers,

Trog

Looks great! Nice to have another BC'er on the forum! Are you on the Island or the mainland?

I'm in Richmond (Steveston). Is there a 'Seven' club anywhere in the GVRD I should be made aware of?

Cheers,

Trog

There may be, but if so I'm not aware of it.

There are, however, quite a few of us BC'ers on LocostUSA, and LOTS of Canadians! We are made to feel very, very welcome here!! It's an amazing group of folks, with a pool of knowledge that is astounding - IMHO, the best in the world.

There used to be a mailing list of Se7en owners in the lower mainland. Ron (sevenesqueron) used to put on a gathering in the summer, but it's been a few years since there was one held. I can't recall if I had my email removed from the list, or if the list fizzled out. It's been 8 years since I sold my Seven and 5 since I sold my Eleven.

If you get the chance, I'd love to see some pics of the interior & engine compartment...

As requested....plus a gratuitous photo of my home-made bonnet.

I've seen Westfields with molded windshield surrounds, but this one is new to me. The box-section at the bottom of the windshield lets the wipers mount without the arms having to bend through extreme angles.

I also noticed that the scuttle is angled back at the top, which looks nice.

This is a really clean build. I like the angled firewall that matches (?) the angle of the windshield. It also is accentuated by the same angle in the aluminum bonnet. It is a nice touch that could easily be implemented in any Locost build.

Trog,
Did you buy the car locally or did you bring it in? A friend of mine was talking about selling his a while back, I haven't seen him in a few months, so wondering if this one might have been his.

Hi Rod,

I purchased the Westy last summer from a fellow in Burnaby who confirmed he imported it into the country. His name was "Charlie".

This is what it looked like when I took delivery vs current configuration:
