Sometimes in life you need tea and sympathy, others you need a slap upside the head.
My friend Jeff came round this morning. Told me to stop whining an fix this. We did as DaveW suggested and bolted two plates to the existing pedal box, moved the pivot up on the pedal and voilà, it works! Sometimes you need another perspective.............or a slap upside the head. It's been a long stressful week. This bloody thing has fought me all the way. Last night I had had enough. Today we beat it.
I went round the block a couple of times. Once I have worked out how to get the video from my phone to here there will be proof. For those of you who can't wait that long Jeff put them up on the HAMB already.
Thanks guys. It's back on.
Cheers,
Stewart

Hi Stewart

Is there any way you can move the cable attachment point on the release bearing lever closer to it's pivot point?
This would increase the travel at the expense of a stiffer clutch pedal.
Is it a cast or forged lever? Forged could be shortened easily.

All the best going forward!

Congrats on the fix - Too late too soon reading and replying to this log

I, too checked the H.A.M.B. videos. A little too short, would have liked to see and hear more but very impressive just the same. Wouldn't be surprised to see you on one of Leno's feeds some day.

Good job.

I was seriously considering dispatching Bubba up there to deliver a motivational speech. Or something...

Now, as Cap'n Jack Sparrow said, "Fetch me that horizon!"
Go racing! It's about those timing slips...

Need to get my 13 year old neighbor how to post video sorry guys. I can build a car from the ground up but can't figure out how to show you the video :(.
So, I DROVE it out on the street for some pictures, that I can do. This is it in race trim. Just need to bleed the brakes one more time and it's done.
The last shot is of the deck lid. It was made by Jimmy and Nate, father and son, friends of mine. I got everyone who helped, and the kids who painted it to sign it. This, along with the hood top, made by my friend Clark, are my favourite parts of the car.
I could not have done this alone. A lot of friends gave a lot of their time to help. I am forever in their debt. This forum helped too. Suggestions and smartarse comments kept this moving forward. Thank you all.
We leave on Thursday, be back late Sunday. Will let you guys know how I go on next week, stay tuned!

That's a seriously cool hotrod, and good to see you got it ready in time for the races. Hope it goes as fast as it looks.
