yes nice build table all it needs are four trailer jockey wheels fitted to the legs so you can jack it up and move it around.

i didn't get my lathe and mill until i had finished my car.

You made a lead screw? I'm impressed. Was you old day job a machinist?

Tom
The lead screw was a 1 inch 6tpi acme screw. I just had to turn the ends.
In my old job I made light bulbs.

Main center tube is now in and welded. I want to use the donor car seats but I have to find a way to lighten and lower them.

See if you can find a set of Triumph TR 7 seat rails. They are not very tall and if cut the center bar you can adjust them to increase / decrease the side to side dimension.

Here is a reference to see what they look like.

Been bypassing the seats for now and just working on the frame. A LOT of grinding to get everything just right but that was expected.

My biggest problem with the donor seats is the weight. With all the factory crap underneath they weigh a ton and you need it to hold the back to the base. I am sure I can figure it out but a set of seats from a older porsche 714 would be the ticket. They were pretty much just a fiberglass pan with thin padding.

Porsche 914 seats were pretty good for our builds. When I bought mine they were Locost even with new covers for the bottoms. Alas I'm afraid now the cost is getting out of hand. Folks are restoring 914s now. Used to just throw them away.

I might have to make the long trek to Winchester and check out your shop!

I could make a trek to Hempy's house to make a car pool of it...
